Religion As An Attraction May 10, 2013
This was a beautiful monastery with two churches on site (an old out of use one and the new one). I was amazed to hear that this is still a working monastery and when we entered the newer church we were in time to see the service so actually got to see the monks at work. It was a little odd oggling at people who were clearly mid-worship and I felt a little out of place but at the same time it fascinated me because monasteries are lost in the UK and I've never properly seen them before. The buildings themselves were stunning and the old church has some breath-taking frescos lining the walls and ceiling.

I payed a small fee (about 6 lei) to get inside but I think this was only because of the service being held. It was very worth it, even to just have a brief look around. The toilet facilties weren't brilliant but useable and there is also a little gift/information shop as well.
