Simon's Town Vacation Guide
Simons Town is on the Cape Peninsula, between Cape Town and Cape Point. It is home to Boulders Beach, where you can see plenty of penguins and is also the main naval base for South Africa.
The town was named after the governor of the Cape Colony, Simon Van der Stel - upon whose recommendation the Bay was used by the Dutch East India Company for winter anchorage.
Something of interest if you plan on visiting Simon’s town is the Mineral World located right at the edge of the town. If you are a gem shopper or lover, this is a haven for gem stones.
