An awesome experience everyone should try Feb 23, 2015
Simbavati River Lodge was booked for me as part of a trip. It is a truly awesome experience. I never would have thought to take a safari, but I am so glad that my friend did this.

You are picked up at the airport and have about an 1 drive to teh lodge. Hipefully you will see animals along the way, I saw a Giraffe, Elephant and some Impala.

You are great upon arriving by the staff with a hand towel to wipe down and refreshing drink. Here they will cover the activites and the ground rules for the area. Such as do not go out at night alone from area or leaving the immediate area, since wild animals are all around.

Booked for me was the Luxury Tent with twice daily safaris. My tent has to twin beds together, a refirgator, camp closet to hang clothes, air conditioning. Out the back door is a large bathrrom with double sinks, double rain showers and large tub that sits outside if you want to bathe and view the river. The bathrrom is secure from intruders, i.e. baboons.

You are warned to keep your cabins and tents secured, the tent has two dead bolts and a padlock on the outside wooden doors and dead blots on the inside. The reason is that baboons know there is a snack bar inside and also will go thru all of your stuff.

Roaming around the area each day will be African Monkeys and possibly a warthog family, these are wild creatures so do not approach.

Wifi was in the common area and cabins, mine being the first tent got it somedays.

The first night there a hippo was grazing next to my tent after dinner. A hippo was also the surprise guest to the last nights dinner. Though dnagerous hippos will leave you alone as along as you do not block them from water or endager their kids.

I saw plenty of animals and the big 5 on the 4 of 5 safaris i took. Sat out the last one because I had already shot about 700+ photos. Take a look, this is a place to go at least once in your life!!!!
