Silverado Winery Napa Reviews
High Ho Silverado Jan 02, 2011
I liked the setup of this vineyard. The tasting room is on a big hill so it's got a fantastic view to the north of Napa is just fantastic. The winery was overlooking some of the vineyards. The building was gorgeous and the patio was amazing!
The service was attentive and friendly. Tom was our pourer for the day and he was very knowledgeable about the wines and the area. My fraternity brother is the winemaker here, so I had a little more interest in these wonderful wines anyway. BEAUTIFUL! Silverado is everything you can imagine a Napa Valley winery to be.
For the wine tastings, you can choose a $10(estate) or $20(premium) wine tasting. I felt fortunate, again to have my buddy Julien with me so all of our tastings were complimentary.
Fortunately for me, I found out that the estate tasting was really red wine heavy. Really intense smells and flavors and not exactly what I liked. After finishing several generous pours, enjoying the bread sticks, and admiring the view, I was fully prepared to take some wines home and I decided on the 2006 Zin and that sweet tasty Sangiovese. I walked out paying under $60 for both bottles and very happy.
This is a Great place to go and truly relax. It's big enough to not be crowded, and small enough to really learn a thing or two about wine.
Make sure you check out the oak barrel room on your way out, or on your way to the bathroom!
