Silver Sand Beach Resort.

We discovered this gem of a place during one of the weekend outings, place hidden among the various other beach resorts on East cost Road from Chennai.
3 Kms before Mahabalipuram town on the East Coast Road from Chennai, its just after the Golden Spa Resort.

It has the rugged look and has only 5 huts in total and one of the hut is enclosed with a small swimming pool. Its right beside the clean beach, secluded and very safe. You can hear the waves from your room. They have a website with all the details.

From the outside the hut looks kind of rugged, but inside all rooms have AC, queen size beds with clean sheets, TV-Cable, cupboards, fridge and attach bathrooms. The bathrooms are really big and clean and the highlight is the rain drop shower with hot and cold water which is the open air type. You can enjoy the water drops during hot day or a humid night.

This is a vegetarian place with a-la-carte menu. If you fancy eating some specific vegetables you can tell them in advance and they can get it from the market, the cook is excellent and can prepare as per your suggestions. No alcoholic drinks are sold at this resort, but you can get your own and have it there.

Within the compound they have adventure sports activities like rappling, rock climbing, obstacle activities, beach volley ball. Details of all facilities are provided on there website.

As there are very few huts so most of the time you will have the whole place to yourself, can spend some calm and peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Chennai city.
