Luxury in Sevilla Apr 21, 2009

It doesn't get much better than this, as far as luxury is concerned. This place just oozes class and obviosuly caters to tourists and business people alike. The architecture is marvellous with many wide open spaces full of light and even an interior garden. There's many bars, buffets and lobbies and additional services like a small gym and sauna. The garden behind the hotel holds a nice pool and bar as well. The rooms aren't big but well equiped and there's a business center for Internet access. Now, they normally charge 9 Euro per hour but I never actually had to pay. There's a couple of disadvantages though, making this an imperfect choice for the average TravBuddy. First of all, prices are steep, both for the drinks and the rooms (which normally cost around 250 Euro). It's also quite far from the city center, making it necessary to get a cab every time you visit Sevilla's sights. Then again, a trip by cab rarely costs more than 7 Euro. So, if you've got the budget this might be a good choice.

Nothing special - just a regular chain hotel Mar 29, 2009

This hotel may seem to be situated a little bit far from the city center but in reality the transport connection is fairly good.If you have your own car, you can easily find the free parking lot in the adjacent streets and go by car till the city center as there are quite a lot places to park on the way to it. Taking a bus can be another convenient option.
I would not say rooms will amaze you with sophisticated design (mine has some problems with the steel window frame which I could hardly close while the hotel stuff was the way too reluctant to repair it even after this was claimed as a urgent issue). Free Internet connection is an obvious plus.
I definitely would not stay at another Silken hotel while there are some better and more comfortable options around (e.g., Barcelo, NH or Comfortel chains).

True :) You can't be making the right choice every single time but at least now I've got my own opinion about the main Spanish hotel chains!..

It's always interesting to compare the hotel's own description with what a real person says about it ;-)
