not one of the friendliest airports in the world. every turn brings you to another gruff customs officer who, not knowing how to communicate in fluent english, motions with an "eh!" or "you!" before pointing to something else to indicate what they want done. they then proceed to flip and check your passports with such force that you might believe you are checking into jail. but it is to be commented that they get the job done efficiently and with minimum trouble if you have everything in place.
it is to be noted that we saw 2 guys with incredibly large bags being stopped outside the departure hall before we left. i think the officer suspected them of trying to bring back some of the ruins! |

During my first 2 days in Siemreap, I spent the time
visiting some lesser known ruins near Siemreap International Airport,
and Phnom Krom (located near the Tonle Sap Lake). Also on the way back
to Siemreap from Phnom Krom, I did a few detours in order to locate
some ruins located in some local Wat's and also in the middle of no

The flight is only an hour from BKK to Siem Reap and before you know it, we are landing at the international airport. Getting through immigration took me all of about 10 minutes, including waiting time. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND that if you travel to Cambodia via the main cities to obtain your visa via the eVisa facility which you can obtain and pay for online… Siem Reap - Day 1 - Tourist 101 |

it was almost 6pm when we reached siem reap international airport. the customs guys are definitely not one of the friendliest people around town. after grabbing your passport, grumbling in a weird tone, scrutinizing your face again and again and signaling for you to face a weird looking round device (which you wouldn… night market and blue pumpkin |

…establishments are concentrated around the old market area, while more expensive hotels are located between siem reap -angkor international airport and the town along national road 6. there are a variety of mid-range hotels and restaurants along sivatha, and budget to mid-range hotels in the phsar leu area. the name siem reap means the 'defeat of siam ' �"today’s thailand… wandering at the city |

Soon after landing, the Siem Reap International Airport greeted us with their smiling Asparas. Cambodian architecture was well evident on the main airport building giving visitors a warm welcome to this little town. Then took a 'moto' to my hostel, The Siem Reap Hostel for 2USD and decided to Hire him as well… Siem Reap is Uncle Sam's hideaway! |
