The SiSi museum is a museum dedicated the Empress Elizabeth of the Habsberg dynasty in Austria. While on a staff tour of Central Europe with Explorica (http://www.explorica.com) a co-worker and I took some time out of shopping to visit this interesting museum. The exhibits start with a collection of the imperial porcelin and other serving ware. There was so much china in there! All of it was so beautiful and ornate too. I can't imagine having to wash it all though!
next was an exhibit about SiSi herself. Her life was really interesting and surrounded by mystery. After her death she became the topic of movies and public praise even though during her life she was not a public person. I would like to learn more about her now after the trip. The final part was her private apartments. I love musuems that include "apartments" of royals. Its so glamorous! |
