Friendly & good service. The owner makes you feel right at home! Feb 05, 2012
The owner of this guest house is a retired English teacher. We just called her Teacher; she seemed to like it. Not many people speak understandable English in Myanmar, much less Bagan, so being able to communicate with a local is a huge plus. Teacher was friendly & helped us a lot when planning our daily trips.

New Bagan where Shwe Na Di is located is a bit farther from Old Bagan where the temples are. It is however, within easy cycling distance, so no worries there. You can ask Teacher - or her brother who helps her run the house - for bicycles. It only costs 2,000 kyats a day and gives you the ultimate freedom to meander around Bagan however you want.

Three of us girls rented a double room for USD20 per night plus breakfast - the supersized king bed was large enough for three. There is hot water, laundry service (a pair of pants cost only 300 kyats, cleaned & delivered the next day), common area for breakfast & watching TV, clean sheets + towels + extra blankets if it gets too cold, enough power points in the room to charge our camera batteries etc.. many nice things about this guesthouse that made our stay a pleasure. We were very sad to leave Bagan & this place...

NB: Single rooms do not have adjoining bathrooms, but there are two public showers with running hot water. Teacher is also building another block behind the original guesthouse, so more rooms will soon be available for travelers! :)
