Shrimp Shack Beaufort Reviews
Home of the famous Shrimp Burger Oct 06, 2011
Like it's name implies, it's a quaint little "shack" that sits back under the shade of some ancient trees. A very laid back local favorite, natives often enter barefoot with sand still on their feet from the beach.
Orders are taken at a small window, afterward you walk across the old creaky wood plank floor to sit on benches that run along a screened in room to wait for your number to be called.
To "eat-in," food can be brought back to the bench, and you turn around to face out the screened windows, put your plate on a ledge that runs around the room as your makeshift table. What's nice about eating in at the Shrimp Shack is the feel of the sea breeze wafting thru the screens from off the salt marsh. It's a slow paced environment that makes you forget your troubles.
There are several items on the menu, so you should be able to find something you'll like. Most everything is fried, because that's how most food is prepared in the South. But if you want my advice, get the shrimp burgers, it's quite tasty!
The only downside is the place is only open for lunch.
