Short Trip to Chicago
Short Trip to Chicago Reviews
Mar 19, 2006I went to Chicago last summer and here are some of my recommendations about things to see: 1) Millennium Park - located in downtown, it has amazing architecture and landscrape designs. There's a stainless steel pedestrian bridge and all sorts of interesting sculptures. I read that there's also free classical music concerts. Stop by Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park if you're going on a romantic stroll. 2) Art Institute of Chicago - it has a great collection. You probably won't have time to see it all. 3) Magnificent Mile - It's actually North Michigan Ave. and it's the upscale shopping district of Chicago. 4) 96th Floor Signature Lounge - Forget about the Sears Tower and enjoy the view here instead. It's located in the John Hancock Center (3rd tallest building in Chicago) and offers a much better atmosphere. The food is expensive so I recommend going on a clear night and buying a cocktail instead. 5) Finally...eat! That was my favorite part. Make sure you get some Chicago pizza and try out the numerous ethnic cuisines they have there. One thing I didn't do but I heard is great is taking a boat tour. They tell you about Chicago's rich architectural history. I know it sounds boring, but my friends thought it was great. |
