Shopping in Alkmaar
Lange Straat and the Laat, Alkmaar, Netherlands
Shopping in Alkmaar Reviews
Two main streets and dozens of smaller streets in between Jul 31, 2014
There are four streets: Achterstraat, Fnidsen, Hekelstraat and Ritsevoort on the site, but the Laat and Lange Straat are very important as well. Last two are filled with chain stores and the more expensive shops (like jewellery, expensive glasses and high end clothing).
The nicer and smaller shops are in the four streets, devided over the city centre, the Fnidsen (named after Venice) and Hekelstraat are located in the older city centre. The other four streets: Achterstraat, Ritsevoort, Laat and Lange Straat are in the city centre self.
Alkmaar is a Fair Trade municipality meaning many shops have items with the Max Havelaar keurmerk (Fair Trade certification mark). You'll find these products in the supermarkets, severall clothing shops, restaurants, cafes and of course in the Wereldwinkel (Fair Trade shop like shop).
(article was deleted and re-uploaded on 31st of July 2014 because the name was changed by somebody and I couldn't correct it. Because of the replacing I've lost the photos as well.)
