Shkodra is one of the major cities of Albania. It is an ancient city founded in the IV century B.C. and it was the capital of Ancient Illyria.
The symbol of the city is the Rozafa Castle. A 2200 years old castle located on a hill 130 meters above the sea level, between the rivers of Drini and Buna. There is a wonderful legend about this castle…
Shkodra is particular for its mixed landscape. 30km in the north raise the Albanian Alps and 30km in the south there is Velipoja Beach in the Adriatic coast. Near the city is the Shkodra Lake (one half is in Albania and the other half is in Montenegro), the biggest lake in the Balkans.
Shkodra is a place where history and nature are very good mixed.
