This Indian restaurant is at downtown Mountain View (home of Google) in the Silicon Valley of northern California. Mountain View downtown looks like a nice downtown with lots of shops, restaurants and parking. We went during a rainy night, and the lights along the street looked pretty lively.

The restaurant is at a corner, easy to find. The interior is cleanly decorated and the staff were very friendly and did not rush us. We met some friends and took our time chatting before looking at the menu.

We ordered Garlic Naan and Rumali Roti (a special, air flipped paper thin bread baked on an inverted Indian Wok) for our breads. I liked the Rumali Roti better than the Naan bread because it was not dried up, it was really thin and you had to tear the large piece of bread into smaller pieces by hand. We had Shahi Samosa (4 crispyly fried turnovers stuffed with mixed vegetables, herbs and spices) for appetizer, it was OK, but not special.

For dinner we ordered Bharoni Shimla Mirch

(Roasted whole bell pepper stuffed with freshly chopped vegetables and

cooked in thick curry sauce), Lamb Roganjosh

(Tender pieces of lamb flavored with cardamom, cloves, and Kashmiri

spices with a blend of onions, fresh ginger and garlic) and Butter Chicken

(House specialty - Tandoor-grilled shredded chicken simmered in a rich

tomato based creamy honey gravy) and Chef's Signature - Sea Bass Tikka

(Fresh tender Chilean sea bass marinated in Chef's special marinade, char-grilled). Of these, the lamb was my favorite, followed by the Sea Bass. The waiter divved up the curry dishes on our plates for us so we did not have to do it ourselves.

A couple of glasses of wines for 3 (out of 4) of us, and the total was about $150. I think this is only average for the town and it was a pleasant enough experience that I won't mind going back again to try some other dishes.
