Hike for a day Oct 29, 2013
As per plan I have headed to Budhanilkantha temple area by my car at 7.00am morning(Budhanilkantha Temple - Sleeping Bishnu statue in water on bed of snakes). Arrived at bottom of the northern hill of Kathmandu valley at 8pm, its pretty fresh air here and took ticket cost nrs.10 rupee equal to usd 10 cent, park the car and entered to Shivapuri National Park. I have arranged lunch, water and few necessary things from my house which is less than 3 kilos in my back pack. Started to Hike with sound of forest including birds sound, insects sound that continued for whole my trip, water falls and streams that let me feel I am out of city. Whole dense forest is at either sides of the track and could not see sky or sun light for almost an hour and I reached at a Monastery name Nang-Kyi Gumba.

Nang-Kyi is Monastery for Nuns and sheltered to approx 120 Nuns as per a Nun I have talk for few minutes. Waited for other hikers and relax for one hour here in monastery. At 10am headed to Baghduar upper hill hike on steep trail which was crumbled and eroded away by the rain water. Collecting all the courage I have headed to the destination, for first half an hour it was difficult to go up on the crumbled steep trail. Holding bushes and branches I have crossed this part and reached at not steep trail from where few up and down inside the beautiful forest I have reached at BaghDuar. This is a originate point of water source of river that is famous as Bagmati River in valley below. Washed, refreshed and headed to Shivapuri Peak a last 1 Km hike from here but steep stone stairway was killing me for half an hour and at the end I have reached at the peak of Shivapuri- 2732mtr. Relax, lunch, snaps, meeting other hikers.

In return I have choose another route opposite way to down to bottom. but this route has more stone stairway to bottom and tired legs getting pain on every step down. It took me almost 2 hours to reach at entry point at 3pm. Overall 8 hours total time spent, 10 rupees for ticket to entry, lunch pack, water, transportation etc arranged by own self. Trip Enjoyed, No Expenses. Next Hike next mountain ridge of Valley.
Ticket to National Park cost Nrs.1…
