Stayed here in July 07 for about a week. The hotel seems really old and somewhat rundown--think 1970's. Rooms and bathrooms are really small-probably below average for Tokyo. Hotel staff were below average, not real helpful. Restaurant staff were friendly, food was average, below average for Tokyo. For the location, prices were cheap. There's a big park right across the street, and Shinjuku station is a ~10 min walk. Good bars and restaurants near Shinjuku station, not much right around the hotel. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't a place to stay, but if you're looking for a cheap place to crash in Shinjuku it's probably ok.

Today we woke up early at about 6:45am since we’d gotten to bed so early the previous night—though really I was awake by 5am! Despite the uncomfortable bed, I felt refreshed by the sleep I had gotten. We were the first ones down to breakfast fro…Shinjuku without any problems—that is until we left through a different exit and didn’t recognize the way back to the hotel! Luckily, I spotted the New City Shinjuku Hotel sign shining over a bunch of trees. So far I have enjoyed Tokyo a lot! The people… Day Two--Tokyo

Again I rose early this morning, really looking forward to some more rice and French fries for breakfast! I wasn’t disappointed! We took the train from Shinjuku to Tokyo station where we were destined for the Imperial Garden—the current Imperi…want to do while I’m in Japan! Oh well, hopefully we’ll get to do it another time. That was how we spent our last night at the New City Shinjuku Hotel in Tokyo. Tomorrow afternoon we head for Hakone and the Onsen—hot springs! … Day Three--Tokyo
