Shilo Rome Reviews
Excellent kosher food with a Roman twist Jan 09, 2013
We stopped by Shilo after a long day of walking around the Roman Forum and the Jewish Ghetto.
The food is mainly home-made, think Grandma making casserole. There is a large selection right in front of you. You pick what you want and they'll put it on a plate for you and heat it back up in a microwave. Doesn't sound appealing? Well, it really was the best food we had in Rome.
Some dishes are very "kosher" type things like hummus, others are more Roman, like the spicy tagliatelle I ate. YUM!!
Don't mix meat and fish on your plate as one of the rules of kosher dinning for those that don't know.
Highly recommended when in the area of the Jewish Ghetto, Isola Tiberia, and/or Bocca della Verita.
Cost was ca. 10 Euro a plate.
