Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyo

I mention the bathtub because for anyone who's stayed in tokyo before... this is a luxury! not all hotels have a bathtub, especially if you're staying in more budget accom (most people that want to soak go and use sento or public baths) - but i found after a long day sight seeing the bathtub in my room was so relaxing!

so, enough about the bath - (but really, it is good! he he) excel shibuya is in the heart of the action - located right next to shibuya station you can't get much more convenient. light sleepers never fear, you can't hear any station noise!

the staff are friendly yet professional and everyone i dealt with spoke english.

this hotel would probably be a little on the pricey side for most budgets (it was for mine but i did it anyway! was first solo trip, wanted a bit of luxury!) but considering it's prime location with spacious rooms and great views of the city, it really isn't too bad for value.

close by things to see include mega store 'tokyu hands' for souvenirs and generally obsurd nik naks! mark city department store (directly below hotel) - be sure to check out the basement of mark city called 'foodshow'... if you love japanese food you'll be in heaven! just about every dilectably delicious treat you can imagine from gyoza to pastries, sushi to soba. not to mention the cakes!

shibuya has plenty of nightlife, shopping, cafes and things to amuse the young 20-somethings, so they'll enjoy this area most although it really does have something for everyone.

all in all, excel is a great hotel in a perfect location for exploring all that tokyo has to offer.

It is in center of Shibuya where, center of Tokyo.
Hotel is very clean, has nice view of the city, safe and convenient.
Usually 20000 JPY/night which is quite average rate in Tokyo.
Always my friends from overseas stay there.
