very good hotel in tampa Mar 01, 2009
ok... SHERATON sounds like a luxurious hotel. even though the price wasn't that high, the hotel had a lot of class. the indoor design had a unique touch. the rooms were big, with a stylish bed, and relaxing couch. a pretty big lcd television, a wooden desk, were also part of the room.
the swimming pool was also pretty stylish, and you had a view over the riverside. during our stay, it wasn't that warm in tampa, but the pool water still was... so you could have some fun in the pool despite the chill winds blowing over tampa... the bad thing about the hotel was its location. it's located in downtown tampa. so there was nothing around the hotel... no shops, no bars, no supermarkets. the closest thing to the hotel was the famous university of tampa. that one was in walking distance. otherwise you had to drive a car, to visit ybor city, or the channel side. the sheraton only offered vallet parking, which was 15$ a night... annoying! because i don't like vallet parking, IMO everyone should park his own car... tampa was the most uninteresting city we've visited on our trip through florida... the only interesting point was ybor city (cuban district)... it has no big shops, no convincing malls... i expected a little more from the capital of florida. well for the hotel, i would always turn back again... nothing to complain about. breakfast was very good as well. as already mentioned, the only minus was the location.
