Sheraton Lagos Hotel and Towers Reviews
5* Prices 3* Quality May 12, 2011
Sheraton Hotel & Towers, to be honest is a rip-off. they class them selves as a 5* hotel but are at the high end of 3*. and an Average room rate of upwards of $400 unless you have a 'deal'
They have a monopoly on airline crews & transit oil workers, due to proximity to the airport, so they think that regular investment in the hotel is not necessary.
Talking late 80's!!! the hotel turned 25 years old last year.. Rooms are old with worn carpet, they look and feel tired... and are in desperate need of a face-lift... unless you are on the 2nd floor, this is the experimental 'IKEA' floor!!!
Bathrooms tend to be on the well-worn side, Expect 'brown' water from the taps for the first minute or so after turning on..!!!
Electricity Power Supply is generally OK, by Lagos standards, their back-up generators do work..
Their Air Conditioning is somewhat to be desired though... Don't be surprised to find it not 'cooling'
Restaurants & Bars
they have Italian & Pili Pili African themed Restaurants plus the CrockPot Buffet, a mix of International & African cuisine and of course the Pool-Side buffet 5 nights a week
To be Honest I've never eaten in the Italian or the African... to EXPENSIVE...
The buffets start at around $35.00 depending on the day and the theme. (at the moment Saturdays Pool-Side Buffet is best... a sort Tex-Mex)
The Pool-Bar is comfortable, but the general menu is EXPENSIVE... a beer will cost you $5.50 and a burger $25.00, pizza don't even go there!! $25+ for anything more than a Margarita.
Goodies 'sport-bar' (well they have a TV up showing games with NO sound) and its HOT, more than 10 people and the air-co can't handle it!!! same 'general' menu as the pool bar.. Staff here are a little arrogant & lazy...
Reception Bar.. not alot to say about this...same menu.. see above... at least its 'airy'
There is also a 'Night-Club' watch out for the 'night fighters' and I'm not talking 'mosquitoes'
Staff are generally friendly and helpful, (except Goodies)...
Overall, the hotel needs to good refurb... pull it into the 21st century... It carries the name & logo of Sheraton, but don't expect US or Euro standards!!!

During a recent visit to Lagos, Nigeria, I stayed at the Sheraton Lagos hotel. The Sheraton name should imply good quality and service, however, this does not hold in Lagos. The hotel was filthy, their services was pathetic and they were extremely expensive. Not recommended at all.
