There weren't many good and luxury hotel in Lhasa, Tibet. We were so glad to be back to Four Point Sheraton after we had stayed in those 3 stars hotels in Tsedang, Gyanste and Shigatse. Clean room and public areas, big bath tub and shower room. Never have a problem to turn on the hot water especially it was really cold in winter. The heater works well in the room too. The bed is perfect, not too hard and not too soft unlike those extremely hard beds in other hotels. ( I had problem to go to sleep in one of the hotel because the bed was too hard!) We ordered breakfast from the menu and the food was good. They didn't offer buffet breakfast due to the low occupancy therefore I couldn't comment on the varieties. Although this hotel is not located right in the Bakhor square where all the restaurants and cafes, shops located but is a walking distance from the hotel. A rickshaw right back to the hotel is very easy and cheap and it was fun!

Western accomodations in the East Aug 03, 2008
The Sheraton Four Points in Lhasa has to be one of the nicest hotels in Tibet. The location was ideal, we were able to walk to Barkhor Street and the Jokhang Temple. Rooms were clean and the service from the hotel staff was outstanding. I could do without the glass window from the bathroom to the bedroom, but those seem pretty common in China. Rooms are a little pricey by Tibetean standards ($100/night) but I thought it was well worth it.
The lady who runs the little shop across the street (Speaks no English) was very friendly and helpful, make sure to stop by there and get any beverages you might want. Part of the China 2008 travel blog |
