Sheraton Djibouti Hotel Reviews
Not Sheraton standard Nov 27, 2009
It is called Sheraton Djibouti Hotel, but has nothing to do with the Sheraton standard we know from America and Europe.
The carpet in the reception, lounge and bar had never been vacuumed since they were new. The floor in our room was pretty dirty too. Bed was good and sheets clean, but the bathroom kind of basic and floor filthy. We saw the maid clean the room. With such a dirty rug, no wonder the floors are filthy!
The pool area was nice, but the beach needed a makeover. No one was using it and the sun beds had been left there for a long time. At the pool bar you could get drinks and light meals.
Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. They had a good selection of bread, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and a separate counter for omelets and eggs. Most of the staff was nice, but they did not know the concept efficiency. Everything took a long time.
In the business centre there were three computers and internet access cost USD 10 per 30 minutes.
In the same building, but with a separate entrance outside, there was a casino.
We only stayed here for one night. After a week on a boat it felt nice to stay in a proper hotel, but it was absolutely not worth the USD 150 we paid.
