Shelter Island is an affluent residential island on the northeast end of Long Island, NY.

It is situated between the north and south forks of the island, and is largely comprised of a state park/nature preserve, also a popular destination for tourists and local school groups.

You can reach Shelter Island by ferry. It runs between Sag Harbor on the north fork and the Hamptons on the south fork.

Shelter Island is also notorious for its high population of deer ticks and consequently high rate of Lyme Disease, and adequate protection is recommended.

Popped back to island for some rest bite before Jen arrives. Went to the Pridwin to see hi to everyone, which was really nice. I ate raw shrimp without knowing but surprisingly it was pretty good!
