Playing ...in Playa del Carmen
Jun 15, 2008 - Jun 18, 2008
Talk about relaxing! Playa del Carmen was such a grrrreat {last minute} choice! It's such a nice difference from built-up Cancun. Playa had lots of smaller hotels right on the beach, with plenty do to do and lots of great restuarants within walking distance!

Living it Up in Lima~ Nov 2007
Nov 10, 2007
We weren't suppossed to end up in Lima, but because we didn't get on our flight....we decided to make the best of it by spending a day in Lima. We stayed in the Miraflores area and we were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful views of the Cliffs and the ocean. Watching the the Paragliders sail off the cliffs high above us was really exciting to see........until we decided to try it ourselves!!

Aguas Calientes~ The Gateway to Machu Picchu~ Nov 2007
Nov 08, 2007
Aguas Calientas.....or Hot Springs {water} is a small town built at the edge of Machu Picchu. At the end of the 4 hour train ride from Cusco, the town is all uphill, Restuarants and Hostels galore. At the top of the hill or town is the Hot Springs where you can sit in the Hot Baths for about $4 USD. There isn't much to see in this little town...although it does have it's own charm, I wouldn't reccommend spending more than a couple of days here!

Exploring Machu Picchu ~ Nov 2007
Nov 07, 2007
It's just so amazing to me that the Inka people built this astounding mountaintop city. Which included a Palace, Temples, Observatory...with water fountains, terrace gardens, and even a sun dial so they could tell what time of day it was. All this, built using only primative tools!

Cusco One Of The Highest Cities in The World- Nov 2007
Nov 05, 2007 - Nov 07, 2007
Cusco, Peru -› -› ...
Cusco, which is 11,151 feet above the level of the sea, has allot of diversity, with a European feel. Have lunch on the balcony of one the many resturants overlooking the Main Square and people watch...see the colorful clothing, the school children in their uniforms, the old man on the park bench. Then explore the many Museuems and Grand Churches.
