China was great. Seeing the great wall amazing and the shopping was so cheap!
Beautiful landscapes and ladies:)
Bring toilet paper, you don't want to be caught with out. They still squat to use the bathroom, but not all places. You might see kids with no diapers and just peeing where they please. That was funny. I was there for 3 weeks and it was really fun.

I slept for most of the train ride to Shanghai. My sleeper was similar to the bunks on a tour bus and after a couple hours of reading, doing crosswords (thanks Courtney!) and listening to music, I was out like a light. Shanghai was on my “maybe, maybe not” list. I had heard that it was very wes…

We slept in late because there is no window in our room, by the time we were ready to explore the city, it is time for our lunch. We walked around QuXi road, which is the area around our hostel. We past by a small food stall selling breakfast so we grabbed one each. We walked arou…

i love how people actually speak mandarin here. it's really good practice for me. i think i could live here. but we'll see after this week if i can stand the squatters and the mosquitoes (we've killed 3 already in our room). we're going to the "fake market" in a little bit to buy our northface gear…

Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou are all amazing cities in China that all have something different about them. Beijing gives you a look at the communist structure but also has a lot of history too. Shanghai is more metropolitan and an upcoming financial center of the world and Suzhou has many traditional Chinese gardens and is considered the Venice of China with its many canals. Overall, China is well worth the trip no matter where you go.

So, our last couple of days in
Shanghai.
On Monday we walked down to Yu Yuen
Gardens. We got a bit lost trying to find the entrance to it and
stumbled into a little temple by mistake (its a lot easier to do than
it sounds). We walked round for a bit before finding our way to the
gardens. …

We took the overnight train from Beijing to Shanghai. We stayed at the international youth hostel Ming Town Hikers and it was probably the worst hostel we have stayed in so far.
Unfortunately we were left feeling disappointed with Shanghai as there was surprisingly little to do.
