Shakhmatovo is a well-known historical place. This estate is related with the life of Alexander Block, the famous Russian poet. Today it is a state-owned Block memorial museum. Although the majority of the exhibit wasn't in fact the Block's property, it re-creates the perfect atmosphere of a Russian small entry estate of 1880s.
