Shake Shack, shakes, burgers and more - 215 Murray Street, near 911 memorial May 02, 2016
We seem to be eating or having a beverage everywhere today! I typically don't do fast food, it's not my thing. Companion had heard good things about Shake Shack so I was game to try it. I had a simple cheeseburger and it was perfect for me. It was interesting and funny to watch staff attempt to get a pigeon that was quietly resting out of the restaurant, at least it was not diving for food. They were successful in getting him outdoors without harm to bird or people.

Mushroom Burger Oozing Cheese Nov 29, 2011
I watched the movie Tower Heist and read somewhere about Shake Shack, a famous burger eatery in New York. I goggled it to find out more. I went to the nearest Shake Shack for brunch at Theatre district at Ave 8, 44th Street. Well, to prepare for this trip, I enjoy watching movie based in New York location. Normally, I only watch at most 3 movies in a year. I think it's a great way to see the location first before going.

I had the mushroom burger, a crisp-fried portabella mushroom with lettuce, tomato and their shack sauce. When I bite the mushroom burger, the melted cheese slowly oozes out. That was awesome! I really love cheese and mushroom and how I wish we had a Shake Shack in Singapore!

I also ordered cheese fries, which are really good, and their famous frozen custard. I had the chocolate cinnamon single dip cup.

They have a unique way of collecting your food. After ordering, they will give you a small electronic gadget. When the gadget shakes, you can collect your food at the counter.

I really like their service. In addition to good service, you have unlimited free plain water. Most importantly, they have a very clean and spacious toilet. Some of the restaurant like Katz deli has the world smallest cubicle.

I went for my meal twice. The first time I made the mistake of keeping the shack stack for the circleline cruise. You need to eat the mushroom burger hot. When it’s cold, it doesn’t taste as good. A mushroom burger costs $6.50. You got to try this if you love a good burger. They also have hamburger, cheeseburger and shack stack.

There are seven branches in New York City and it started at madison square park. But I am really pleased with the Theatre district.

Shake Shack Jun 22, 2011
If you are looking for a real New York experience, this is your chance! Shake Shack's burgers are one of the best that I had in my life. trust me!

They have a couple stores around the city. here are some of them:

• MADISON SQUARE PARK - Madison Ave. and East 23th St. "My favorite".

• Upper West Side - 366 Columbus Ave. (at 77th St.) "This one is right behind the museum of natural history, if you are visiting the museum, it's a great option for snack."

• Theater District - 691 8th Avenue, Southwest corner of 8th Ave. and 44th St.

I hope you like it! ;)

Shake Shack - worth the (long) wait Apr 21, 2011
Shake Shack is really popular for their sweets (Concretes), but I love the vegetarian burger - it's a Portabello mushroom that's fried with cheese. Not exactly healthy, but it's so delicious. Their crinkle-cut fries are my favorite in NYC. Make sure you get a Concrete if you're not too full from dessert. Don't be put off by the long lines - the line moves quickly. I like the location on the Upper West Side the best because it's near to Central Park and you can eat your meal there :)

An Outdoor Treat in NYC Sep 08, 2010
This is my first review on TravBuddy.

On Saturday June 19, 2010, I decided to walk around Manhattan to take photos using my new camera that I bought. Since it was a nice day, in the lower 80’s, sunny and with low humidity I walked all throughout the city and at one point ended up at the Shake Shack.

Shake Shack is a well known by folks in the Greater New York City area, it was highly recommended by friends and coworkers as a great place to get good food and drink at a reasonable price.

According to the website, there are four locations in Manhattan and one in Queens inside CitiField. My visit was to the original location inside Madison Square Park located on the corner of East 23rd Street and Madison Avenue.

The menu consists of hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and various desserts. Being a hamburger person and one coming from the hot-dog capital in the world (which is New Jersey) I was skeptical at first, but a solid 45-minutes on a long line, I am a big fan.

Though I did not purchase a hot dog, I ordered a Shack Burger (single), fries, and their themed beer from the Brooklyn Brewery. The thick hamburger came with lettuce, tomato and their special sauce, was thoroughly cooked and juicy and was complemented by their crinkle cut fries which were hot and enjoyable with a cold beer.

The total bill came out to around $12, which isn’t too bad in New York, again, the line was long, but despite that there were places to sit and enjoy your meal. There are two lines, one for hot food and another for drinks and deserts (excluding of all things, shakes), after ordering and paying (cash and credit cards are accepted), they give you a little television-remote size device that will vibrate indicating your order is ready (about 10 minutes).

Want to relax and enjoy outdoors? When the weather is beautiful and working on your tan is a must, eating here is as good as it gets. Shake Shack will deliver with its organic ingredients and delish desserts.

*FYI lines might be long due to popularity with locals
