Shake Pit

Mmmmm. If you are craving some incredible burgers, some exceptional ice cream, or just some local Bradenton color, get your fanny on over to the Shake Pit on Manatee Avenue. The joint is reminiscent of an A&W but much better.

Red vinyl stools surround a red wrap around counter.
Manatee Hurricanes (the high school team) memorabilia shroud the walls. Signatures of players reach all the way to the ceiling.

Outside, there are several picnic tables under an overhang, with window service.

The burgers are amazing. Delicious, and made right in front of your eyes. They offer all sorts of ice creams, from floats to dipped cones (hard to eat for a northerner! read my journal about it if you want) to sundaes or hard serve ice cream.

The staff is warm and friendly.
The place is great.
It has been around for over 40 years...
