worth it Jul 25, 2011
Had a good time at the Alaska SeaLife Center. The 20$ are definitely worth it (if you have more than 20 minutes time to spend there). You see a lot of marine life and it´s for a good reason.

Besides that the ASLC is a "normal" Zoo for marine life, it´s also a rehabilitaion and science center. They put a lot of effort in the protection of endangered species. You can get an idea of that by taking the "Behind the Scenes Tour".

Some highlights: In the exhibition area you see around 20 fish and two otter tanks with all the Alaska marine life in it. Very impressive. Also you can take a close look to starfishs, anemones, octopus and different kind of birds and ducks. A lot of information is provided during the whole tour through the center.

It´s not the biggest and most impressive aquarium in the world, but absolutely worth it to take a look inside. You can spend at least 2 hours there to enjoy the beauty of the Alaska marine animals.

Terrible Disappointment By the Bay May 02, 2008
For what it is worth I went in with high expectations. The sea center talks about hands on but it is nothing of the sorts. All you can get hands on with is star fish and other crap. What a waste. We went and every brochure said it was 15 dollars to get in now it is 20. We could only spend 20 minutes in there for 20 dollars a dollar a minute... All the 3 super tanks were ok for about 2 minutes. Then you can go outside but there are just more high glass walls.. You can not get close to the animals at all.. What a joke DO not I repeat Do not go..
