Sesriem Vacation Guide
Sossusvlei is a salt pan located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park which can be accessed through a gate at Sesriem. It is surrounded by high red sand dunes and a few camelthorn trees can be found in the area. Very exceptionally it may be covered by water following extremely rare floods of the Tsauchab River.
The only way to access Sossusvlei is with a 4x4. Nearby are two other pans: Dead Vlei and Hidden Vlei.
