Go to Belgrade...it's cheap...Kalemegden fortress is beautiful...the food is great...the drinks are plentiful (coffee, beer and pelinka)...and the clubs along the Danube are fantastic!!! Stayed with friends so I can't suggest any places to stay but it's a great city!

I visited Dubrovnik in 2006. In Dubrovnik we rented a car and drove to Montenegro. Renting a car in Dubrovnik is not so expensiv, we were four to pay the costs. The journy gave us a spectacular vouw of Montenegro fjords and mountains. I`ll advice you to go by car because it is lots of nice places...
