Sequoia Shuttle Service to the Natl. Park Jun 16, 2009
Summer is here again and this year will be the third year of the shuttle service that takes people from Visalia to Sequoia National Park for the day and has many stops around the park.
The cost is only $15 per person and that includes park entrance fee.
There are 10 stops on the route that leaves 5 times daily from Visalia from 7a.m. til 1p.m. from the end of May to Labor Day weekend. Return trips begin at 2:30 p.m. and run til 6:30p.m. from the park.
There are two in-park routes.
The Giant Forest Route (Route 1) travels from the Giant Forest Museum up to Wuksachi Village. Along the way, the shuttle will make stops at Sherman Tree, Sherman Tree Parking and Trail, and Lodgepole Visitor Center/Market and Campground. Shuttle buses arrive at stops approximately every 20 minutes. This in-Park shuttle is FREE to park visitors.
The Moro Rock/Crescent Meadow route (Route 2) departs the Giant Forest Museum to Moro Rock and to Crescent Meadow before returning to the Giant Forest Museum. Shuttle buses arrive at stops approximately every 15-20 minutes. This in-Park shuttle is FREE to Park visitors.
Reservations are required and can be made at either www.sequoiashuttle.com or by calling 877-287-4453
This is a great way to see Sequoia National Park and leave your car in the valley. Cheap and easy and it allows plenty of time for picture taking on the way up and on the way back down. The road to and from is quite old and tight twisty turns make the drive less than pleasant, but as a passenger in the small busses it is much more enjoyable. It is also disabled friendly.
Highly recommended!

That's an impressive write up. I hope to experience the Sequoia Shuttle one day soon especially after reading your well-written objective review. :-)

Roger, I bet you know more about Sequoia National Park than most of its employees :-) If I was in charge of the Park, I'd lure you out of retirement with a package that includes a big salary and all the photos you can take :-D

I have been preparing for our upcoming Cruise to Alaska for some time. In fact, we booked back in February!  And one of the reasons for this particular trip was the hopes of being able to see some Aurora Borealis or northern lights.&nbs…… A slightly cloudy night

However, only 4 miles east is Visalia.  And I am sure he got on the freeway again in the morning and traveled south one more mile where he took the off ramp onto CA-198, the freeway through Visalia and directly east towards Sequoia.  …… Visalia - The place with the meat!

We were up and on the road earlier than expected this morning.  All our planning, and then pre-packing, except for last minutes items made it easy.  And of course, who can sleep well the night before a big vacation?  Nobody.   …… On the Road
