Celebrate the joy of lavender Mar 02, 2009
Each year in mid-July, Sequim holds a lavender festival and street fair. This event that features Northwest crafts, Olympic Coast cuisine, live music, lavender workshops and demonstrations, and the area's famous lavender. Admission to the street fair is free, however if you want to tour the lavender farms, the tickets are $15.

The smell is so intoxicating as you walk through the lavender farms. You can pick your own or buy items that contain lavender (as well as other arts and crafts at the street fair).

A tip about the lavendar farms, during the festival week they charge $15, however any other weekend it is free to go to them. Plus the farmers market is there every weekend in the summer. You just don't get the live music and packed hotels of the festival weekend.
