Fantastic place for nature lovers Mar 04, 2011
If you want to rest, enjoy the nature and vist the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre it is the best place for you. Basic fan rooms are affordable and the location is great! I highly recomend thos place. There is a big pond with briges within the various flowers and trees. You can also rest in the swimming pool.

My great stay at the Sepilok Jungle Resort Apr 22, 2011
I stayed at the Sepilok Jungle Resort in Sandakan together with a friend. The travel from the airport to the resort was pretty long. It took us almost 2h by the local bus line, which I dont recommend. Get a taxi or give the resort a call and they'll pick you up.

When we arrived the lady at the reception gave us a upgrade as all the dorm beds were booked and so we enjoyed our stay in a double room. The resort is very big, they have a nice pool and a restaurant which has decent prices. You can walk to the Orang Utan Sanctuary within 5mins. Except from the jungle our the resort there is not much to see. Just enjoy the silence and the wonderful nature around you...

Treasures of nature, wild orang-utans, quaint homes – Sepilok Jungle is a must visit. Jul 29, 2010
Are a nature lover? Well i'am a die hard one and love exploring different facets of nature. So if you love nature then Sepilok Jungle Resort is where you should ideally be. I completely lost myself in the delightful paradise in Sandakan, Sabah. Watched so many intersting sights.

As i set foot into the Sepilok Jungle, i found myself enclosed within tropical virgin forests, neat landscaped gardens and wide expanse of lush jungle transport. Whilst admiring the beauty of nature, we could hear occasional cries of Gibbons, hornbills, and butterflies resplendent in their colourful beauty.

Where did i stay? What better than a perfect way to spend the weekend with my loved ones at the Sepilok Jungle Resort. Wake up to a beautiful morning and we could hear the morning calls of cicada’s, and a million birds chirping in unison. Heaven isn't it?

Feeding the wild Orang Utans was something i'd never imagined and was something that i really wanted to do. We took a 5 minute walk from the our resort to reach the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. But on coming close to them i was quite anxious, but the guide gave the confidence and the fed the Orang Utans some bananas. Was so surprised and amazed that i kept feeding them. Could'nt stop doing it:)

Finally something to take back home and gleefully show all my friends about my surprising adventures!

Nice place, but cold staff Apr 20, 2009
This place was beautiful on the outside and only a five minute walk from the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, but the staff was horrible. They never had change, they didn't have answers to any questions and as a single traveler they couldn't really help me. Everything they did was a minimum of two people which was frustration. Staff is not on duty through out the night so if anything happens, like locking your key in the room or you need help, you are out of luck. They advertise hot showers, but there were three showers and only one had hot water- if you could call it that! Very disappointed...

Sepilok Jungle Resort is lokated in more than 8 thousand acres of tropical rain forest in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo and is just less than 5 minutes walk from the world renowened Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary.

This resort provides great spots for bird watching enthusiasts. It is set admist a 30 acres stunning garden with tropical fruit trees.

Here you can relax with good food, nice surroundings and if you want nice massage.

The resort is cheap and the rooms is air conditioned.

It's not a resort, it's a guesthouse, and for a guesthouse it's expensive (but everything in Malaysia is a little expensive on a backpackers budget). However there are few other options in the Sandakan area and the extra money is worth it for being so close to the Orang utan center (5 minutes walk). Sepilok (the guesthouse and the center) is at least 20 minutes away from Sandakan city. Be aware.

It's in a beautiful location and the in house restaurant is very good. I recommend staying here.

They will pick you up at the airport for free but you have to pay 30RM for them to take you back. This guesthouse also runs a tour company that can arrange any type of wildlife viewing you desire- the Kinabatangan River, the caves, the valley...they will personalize your trip with all transport and connections.
