People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Engin (Turkey), Joon (South Korea)
Unfortunately my flight from Jeju-do arrived into Incheon airport, so i was still left with a fair distance to reach Insadong. I checked with the airport information desk about the new subway line that i…

I'd like to go ahead and put the kibosh on all the comparisons between Japan and Korea. Sure, they're alike if you're comparing them to say, Zimbabwe. Otherwise, the two countries couldn't be more different. I hadn't heard that they were similar and hadn't thought that way until t…

I arrived at Incheon around 7pm and took one of those organized buses into the city. I had just spent the last two weeks traveling through China and I was a little burnt by this point, so I hadn't done any homework beforehand. I realized I had no clue where I was being taken. I randomly picked a yo…

It was my last day in Seoul.
Karen had left earlier that morning back to Hong Kong for a couple of weeks before returning to CT. My friend, Al, was busy with work, and Sae who returned from his honeymoon yesterday, won't be back in Seoul until night. So, I was on my own.
After dropping…

The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a 2-1/2 mile wide strip of land, barren of humans and machines, that serves as a buffer between North and South Korea. It was established in 1953 after a cease fire agreement that effectively ended three years of bloody conflict that took over 3 million lives.…

These are various pictures I took while we were driving around the city, either on the Seoul City Bus Tour or on our trip up to the DMZ.
Seoul Skies
First and foremost, you can't help but notice that you can hardly see anywhere in Seoul! I wondered if it was fog, pollution, or what. …

After an amazing year working & meeting new friends in New Zealand, it was time to start travelling this amazing country. The plan was to start in the South Island, head North & to make my way back home to the UK through Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, South Korea, China & unplanned Taiwan.

"...Nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard, oh take me back to the start..." That's exactly where I want to be. I want to be getting off that airplane on that first bitterly cold Sunday night in March...I want to be riding in that taxi seeing my first glimpse of Seoul.…

Where hell has the time gone? What happened? After being here for three months, you'd think that I would be able to find something to write about. The fact is, I really don't know how to retrace what I've expierenced the last couple of months, so I will list a few things that stand out in…

Han River or Duksoo Palace Stone wall trail would be good places for a walk.
If you want to take a walk while shopping, then I would recommend Shinchon, Hongik Univ, Myungdong, the East Gate, the South Gate, or C.O.E.X(in Kangnam).
Namdaemoon(the South Gate) has many whole sales stores, so you can think of a huge market. Myungdong has many maker shops.
Gyung Bok Palace can be divided into 8 sections. Most recommended sections for tour are Geun Jung Jun, Gyung Hwe Roo and Hyang Won Jung.

These last few days have been a little strange.. People I have lived with four months or so have been dispersing to all parts of the globe.. Most I will probably never see again..
