Sendero de Monos (Monkey Trail Chiriqui Reviews
Nice trail, quetzals can be spotted Jun 19, 2014
I think the entrance fee is $3, we went with a guide it was about a 1.30 hour hike to the waterfall (endpoint) and back.
We went in December, the guide told us September/August is best time to see Quetzals. And these birds are actually more frequently spotted here than in the Quetzal trail. Our guide spotted 1 female, can't remember which quetzal type she was but very hard to see for the untrained eye! Still really enjoyable hike.
Recommend definitely, it's a moderate hike :)
If you want to go by yourself/group and haven't been here before you can definitely do so as there's just 1 trail and no way you can get lost.
Beautiful foliage, you can also see a 4,000 year old tree and swing from vines :)
They say the waterfall water is very clean and they recommend you empty your water bags and fill them up there.
