Semiramis Kifissia Reviews
Semiramis in Pink Mar 23, 2011
Semiramis is located in Athens suburb of Kifissia, which is kind of fancy, hip area of the town. There are lots of nice houses around, and nice street full of restaurants and shops. Hotel is designed by Karim Rashid, designer famous for making modern commercial designs and kind of bubble-gum colors.
Hotel is designed as boutique hotel, for more hip crowd and it was pretty expensive for what they offer. Think of it as a very modern facade on square building, but facade that works like charm. Every piece of furniture is design piece, tiles configuration, windows, all was designed to be quirky and different. Room numbers are different than what you would expect (they are like signs from star track or SF movies) and in the front of the door there is LED electronic message with “do not disturb” sign. Very cool!
Room is total disappointment because it was super small, tightly packed with design elements and small square acting as a bathroom.
In the bottom subterranean floor there is good restaurant, looking towards beautiful pool and outside area. Parking space is super funky with pink walls that are super vibrant. Gym is small but very well packed with newest machines and equipment. I tried some vibrating machine that did not seem as a hard thing, but it gave me bad muscle stiffness for whole week. Bathrooms in the gym were too small for anything, and badly maintained.
Area is very peaceful nice to go and run around in the morning. Most of the streets have orange trees, and I was there while oranges were all over.
In all, it is interesting to come and see it, maybe even eat there (there are other great restaurants in the area), maybe go and swim in the pool, but that is it. I can recommended it only as a visual stimulation.
