Semarang is the capital of Central Java province that located on the north coast of Java Sea. It has both coast and hill. The northern part is the plain coast and the southern is the hilly side from Candi Baru area upward to the town of Ungaran.

Semarang is a busy trading, industrial and administrative city, where most of the offices, business centers, industrial estates are placed in the low land. While the hilly side places houses with the beautiful gardens and a superb view to the town and the sea. There are a lot old great ancient and colonial building still standing until now.

In certain days of the year, Semarang usually flooded with flow from the sea. Eventhough it will usually only 30 cm flood on the road on the city center, but when it happens, it's better to stay in the hilly side.

We headed Tanjung Emas harbour in northern Semarang to catch a boat which will bring us to Karimunjawa Islands. Rp 110.000 each for a one way business class ticket of Kartini-1 boat. 9 am sharp, we started sailing the water of Java sea. Not much to see, since I got so sleepy and passed out! Some friends told me, they often see dolphins jumping in front of our eyes! 12.30 pm. Karimunjawa Is...
