A perfect time just to relax and enjoy the scenery, went up to Solo, Central Java, to busk in the green of the paddy field, the fresh air and warm smiles of the local farmers and people. It's just before Christmas, I went there with the whole crowd, to enjoy our relaxing days after the whole year slaving ourselves in the city, it's a paradise, indeed :-) Mount Lawu standing straight in the early morning daylight, still shrouded in the cloud...hiding its beauty for the moment...

My first professional volleyball gig overseas... way overseas... to Indonesia. A couple of months after the tsunami, I accepted the offer of a team, so I spent 3 months playing for the Jakarta Electric volleyball team, what an experience! Learn so much about their culture and got to vacation in Bali and other islands... what a treat after so much work!

The last time I was in Indonesia was 8 years ago. I came back just to show my girlfriend and best friends the country I was raised in. I saw Indonesia with other eyes, with tourist’s eyes. I was confronted with the social and economic problems and the intolerance of the radical movement. But I also was confronted with the beauty of this country and the kindness of it’s people. Indonesia, I wish you the best!
