Behind The Falls Jun 29, 2008
Heading round the ring road via Selfoss, and after a short stop at Hella, Seljalandsfoss was soon on our left.
No need for Sherlock Holmes to discover this one as it is just off the main road and easily visible. A collection of buses and cars would probably be the other obvious give away, as there is a small rough car park beside it .
Not the most impressive of the falls, despite a drop of about 200ft, but certainly the most accessible. There is a well set out path that takes you up the side and then in behind the waterfall. Quite a bit of room in behing the falls, but almost all of it dry.
Nothing else to see here, so it won't take you long, and it is a nice distraction on that section of the journey. Good to be able to get out and give your legs a good stretch as I reckon most folk would be aiming reach Vik on this stage.
