Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars. It was a waypoint during the first leg of The Amazing Race 6.

Seljalandsfoss is situated in between Selfoss and Skogafoss at the road crossing of Route 1 (the Ring Road) with the track going into Þórsmörk.

This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 meters over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is possible to go behind the waterfall.

As we were hauling buns trying to get to Vik before sun down we saw from a distance Selfoss.  The sign to turn in said Vestmannaeyjar, but according to our maps that was an island off the coast.  Anyways, Seljalandsfoss gorgeous.  Again, another site that the English dictionary lacks words to describe.  As we drove on Route 1, you could barely keep your eyes on the road as soon as the view of this magestic waterfall captures your eyes.  We quickly turn off the main ro...
