French Mediterranean Cuisine in Lyon Mar 03, 2016
The restaurant is actually built around what use to be an old salt warehouse and it's quite spacious inside and pleasing to the eye, decorated as it is. It can easily accommodate a large crowd for a banquet, but also intimate enough for private dining with ambiance. There is an outdoor terrace for dining as well. I was here for a banquet, so can't speak to the small party experience. The meal was excellent, with what I might say was French Mediterranean style. The salmon dish was simply superb!

Le Selcius Restaurant is very near where the Rhone and Soane Rivers meet in Lyon. In recent years, this area known as 'La Confluence' has become Lyon's vision of the future with sustainable spaces & architecture. There is a website about it if interested ( The area looks worth exploring more, though I didn't have opportunity before/after dinner at Selcius. Another time... To find the restaurant, just look for The Big Orange Cube - it's right next to it.

The Selcius restaurant launched in early 2013, formerly known as Rue Le Bec (a previous restaurant). The orange cube was built in 2011.

Is this a new restaurant? I know the confluence of the Rhone and Soane rivers but don't recall the orange cube. By the way, how is your French?
