Segovia Vacation Guide
Segovia, located about an hour away from Madrid, is the capital city of the Segovia province within the Castile-Leon region. It is often a daytrip from Madrid. Its main sights are: the Roman aqueduct, the Alcázar (which is said to have been the inspiration on the design of the Disney castles), and various churches built in the Romanesque style.
The old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is surrounded by walls built in the 10th century BC.
All sights in Segovia are easily accessible by foot.
Segovia is also famous for its roast suckling pig which in some restaurants is brought to your table and carved with a dinner plate.
