Segevold Hotel Sigulda Reviews
Segevold Hotel Oct 15, 2014
It was madness in Sigulda town with special event on that day and all hotel were fully booked when we arrived late afternoon without any hotel reservation.
Luckily we have rent a car to drive around the Baltic, and after checking soo many hotels and guest house inside Sigulda city centre without any result and it gets too late already, we drive outside city centre and settle with this hotel which we found from the car gps.
The hotel located at the busy main street and not too far from the city centre, probably around five minutes drive. However not many interesting place to see around this area and no restaurant either. If you do not have car, probably a bit difficult to come to this place since I did not see any taxi around. Parking space was plentiful outside the hotel street and it was free.
The hotel reception was very friendly and we were able to see the last room available before we decided to take it and we do not have much choice at that time and we were ready to take what ever room available.
It was an interesting room since the room was design for a wheel chair user friendly and it has huge front door, bathroom door, and especially the interesting toilet and shower.
The toilet has handle on both side and the bathroom has a chair attached on the wall to sit while having shower, and the shower glass door has a wide door for wheel chair user and it only half a meter tall. So, when we have shower, the whole bathroom were flooded, which were very inconvenient, and I have to mop the floor to make it dry and liveable for the night.
The towels were plentiful with a heated towel rack inside the bathroom and plenty of soaps and shampoo supply.
Since there were no air condition inside the room, it was quite warm during day and night time and we ended up open the window in the room to let fresh air come in and cool down the room. Luckily there were no mosquitos during that time and we were safe from it. It was very quiet during night time even with the windows open and we did not hear any noise from the street below.
The hotel has it is on spa, massage centre and gym, however guests need to pay extra to use the facilities.
There is one hotel restaurant near the lobby which serve quite good food but a bit pricey compare with the restaurants price in Sigulda town itself. Since we were tired and it was late night already, we opt to have dinner at the hotel restaurant before retire to the room, than drive to Sigulda city centre. I will write separate review about the restaurant.
The next morning we have buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was good with plenty of food. The hotel cost €60 for two people with breakfast.
