After visiting Montezuma Castle and driving through Oak Creek Canyon on SR-89A, we reached Sedona.  The Red Rocks are all around, and quite beautiful.  Legend has it that the rocks possess mystical powers. The town and most of its gift shops were closed at this hour in the morning, but the ones that were open had alot of books and calendars having to do with meditation, healing, and self-realization. Driving around looking for photo opportunities, we came upon The Enchan...

Slept very well last night, but still got up around 6AM, don't know if it is excitement or still adjusting to the time change from Ohio. This allowed me to edit more photos and update the blog before I headed out to pick up my rental SUV from Hertz at 10AM.Took a taxi to the rental car location, the hotel offered to pay for the taxi since they do not have a shuttle service. Hertz gave me a new maroon Ford Freestyle SUV. Very roomy, easy to drive, although the rear window is small. Went back t...

Inmiddels zitten we in Sedona. Heel mooi. We hebben net een tunderstorm a...

Sedona is simply one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to.  I came down to Sedona the first weekend I was in Flagstaff.  The difference that 28 miles (the distance between Sedona and Flagstaff) makes is unreal.  Sedona is in Oak Creek Canyon.  It is a huge tourist place where people simply come to hike and look at the landscape.  There are some amazing hikes and views from tops of canyons and bluffs in this area.  I also hear that mountain biking...

Sedona

I got so excited about the whole marathon thing that I forgot to post about my weekend in Sedona.  So I was sick last Thursday and when I tried to call in to work,  I found out that Josephine had called in sick already so I went in even though I was sick.  I left a little bit early and we pretty much decided that I would not come back in that Friday, and that's what ended up happening.  I got home, slept for 3 hours and then felt good enough to go to the concert, but the...
