This area of Arizona is amazingly beautiful! These red rocks seem to have something spiritual about them. They are truly absolute peace. If you need some time away and want to have some peace in your life Sedona is a great place to go! If you need some TLC, go to one of the many spas for a treatment or if you are feeling adventurous try a jeep ride. A good company up there is Pink Jeeps. They have a variety of tours that go out on a daily basis and their tour guides are knowledgeable.
I once took a tour up there with Open Road Tours from Phoenix. I had a great time with our guide and the other passengers. I liked it because we were not all crammed in like sardines. We had plenty of room and I could even stand up in the van. I hate feeling cramped! Anyway, this is where I was introduced to Pink Jeep and they also did a fantastic job! The areas of Sedona that they take you are exquisite and I got some fantastic pics! I think I am going to try to go to Antelope Canyon next; I have heard wonderful things about it up there and seen incredible pics! Part of the Things to do in Arizona travel blog |

Sedona-natural beauty at it's finest. Granted, there is a TON of artists and stores in the area, if you can bypass that the scenery is quite exquisit. I let the scenery paint a picture of relaxtion in my mind while I breathed in the glorious air. I recommend bringing a jug of water, dried fruit, and a journal to document the view.

Sedona is really beautiful, sort of where the desert meets the forest. Oak Creek Canyon is a great drive just outside of town. Also, within a 45 minute drive or so, is the old ghost town of Jerome, which is built on the side of a mountain and is now an artist village. Jerome has some great old west sites, including a jail that slid down the side of the mountain, its a very steep city. In Sedona, the red rocks and the new age healing vortices are what its all about, a jeep ride through the red rocks, a visit to the Church of the Red Rocks (built into the cliffs), and a new age tour of the healing parts of town are big tourist draws. Its an interesting place. Have fun.

…allowed Pendley to plant his first apple orchard in 1912, beginning the pattern of agricultural development that has dominated the site since that time. Pendley also grew garden produce and kept some livestock.
As one of the few homesteads left intact in the canyon today, Slide Rock State Park is a fine example of early agricultural development in Central Arizona. The site was also instrumental… Slide Rock State Park - oh how fun :o))) |

We'll definitely add the meteor to our lists of sites sans kitty next time around. I took 89A south from Flagstaff to Sedona to give George a gorgeous view of the Coconino National Forest, canyons, and red rocks. Boy, no matter how many times I've been to this area, the drive is still… Sedona, land of red rocks and rules |
