There is two places in Israel with this name, and they are only 5 K"M away from each other. The first one is kibbutz Sede Boqer and the second one is Midreset Sede Boqer (now named Midreshet Ben Gurion).
David Ben Gurion, Israel first prime minster was a member of the kibbutz and he and his wife are buried in the Midresha. About 45 min's drive south from Bear Shava (bus number 60 will take you there) you will find this small green island in the middle of the desert that surround it. You can spend a night at the Field School G.H and enjoy the special atmosphere of the area. Ibex are a common sight as they come to eat the grass where ever they can find it. You can have a variety of activities such as hiking, mountain bike and jeep trips. And the Best of All: just enjoy it!!!

In winter 2005/6 I was living outside in the Israeli desert, doing the logistics for hiking groups etc and when I come back to Israel at April 2007 I did a bit of the same but manly work as a guide taking people out for jeep trips...did got to spend a lot of time outside, but as it used to be my work, I end up not taking my camera with me for most of the times...sorry

Sede Boqer, Israel -› Mizpe Ramon, Israel -› ...
On the first day it was around 35 degrees celsius, so we waited till noon to do our shopping of food and drinks for the weekend (taking around 6 litres of water per person).
We drove all the way from Tel-Aviv to Sede Boqer, something like 2.5 hours, through the city of Beer-Sheva and other small farmer towns.
Our first stop was the graves of the first Israel Prime Minister - David Ben Gurion. He was a big fan of the desert and he dwelled there after he stopped being a prime minister in Isra...
