Best Cakes EVER Jun 22, 2011
Secret Recipe is a SE Asia brand and they do the best cakes ever. Not only are the cakes delicious, and they sell English tea with proper milk... Heaven. They sell a huge variety of cakes and I urge everyone that see's a Secret Recipe to go in and try a cake. The cakes should be a one of treat as they are pretty expensive compared to the rest of the food in SE Asia but are definitely worth it!!

Oreo Milkshake! Jan 23, 2009
OK - so the idea of an Oreo Milkshake might not appeal to everyone out there, but it damn well should! Secret Recipe is essentially a small cafe-style establishment which serves the typical western dishes, as well as cakes and other desserts, but also a fair amount of Asian style cuisine such as laksas and curries.

The main meals are pretty good and priced averagely for Malaysian standards, but what really stands out are the sweets here. Milkshakes, cakes, and other desserts are the shining light here, and you can't have a meal here and bypass them - otherwise you may as well go somewhere else!

Secret Recipe is quite a large franchise in Malaysia, and they have probably over 100 restaurants in Kuala Lumpur alone (probably more), as well as several others across SE Asia. Since I only went to the one in Leisure Mall (of which there are actually two) I can only vouch for this one, however I do so with a vengeance because it was an incredible experience. In a day where I thought I would just wander around and not find anything of interest, up comes Secret Recipe and their Oreo Milkshake of the heavens - it really was that good.

The staff are friendly and nice, and do their best to communicate in English, providing English menus and descriptions where they can. They all have pictures to help you out in any case, so getting your food shouldn't be a problem. It's staying away from the place after you realise how good it is, being the main issue afterwards!

Like I said, I don't know about any of the other locations, but I'm sure they can't be all that different. If you are in Malaysia and you see one of these, then you are truly missing out if you don't enter at least once.
