Beautiful must-do Apr 28, 2009
The Stanley Park seawall is something everyone can enjoy when they visit Vancouver. Whether or not you're a runner, walker, biker, skateboarder, inline skater etc., you'll enjoy this part of the park. It's approximately 9km all the way around the Stanley Park portion. Expanded in the late seventies/early eighties to accommodate bikers, the wall goes all the way around Stanley Park and extends in to False Creek. There are some great views all along the wall.

Don't feel like you have to go all the way around. There's parking all over (albeit expensive) and you can always just find a nice bench to sit and enjoy the view. I didn't learn to enjoy this perfect slice of Vancouver until recently and I really miss it.

If you're on wheels, please note that you can only go around the park counter-clockwise. This resolved many of the issues between pedestrians and those visitors on wheels.

Please excuse the not very good quality pictures taken from my phone. I kept forgetting to bring my camera!

We take the Seawall, along a paved path past totem poles and great views over the city skyline, the mountains and of course the ocean.  Once or twice we leave the path for a side road. We enjoyed it very much!! Later that evening, because of the vicinity… Vancouver.

We decided to walk lunch off in Stanley Park and took a stroll along the seawall to Brockton Point. By this time we were totally knackered and yet somehow made it back to the Carmana Plaza (our home for the next few days) to meet Steph's mum, Virginia and her partner David.  We relaxed for a while… Vancouver Day Two

Not knowing what to do, I just took a map and headed straight to Stanley Park to walk the seawall (which is pretty much what it's known for). WOW! is it long. My friend told me that I can do it, because I love walking when I travel, but I couldn't finish it. It took me about 2 hours to walk only… Beautiful British Columbia
