2008 Summer road trip with my parents through western Canada and the US. Over 5000 miles in two weeks.

One of the many trip I took while I was living in the US. My dear friend Ariel came with me to show me the beautiful city of Seattle - an awesome time spent in a wonderful city!

So om February 3rd, when everyone was watching the super bowl, two of my friends and I went to Gas Works Park in Seattle close to where I live. If anyone ever comes to Seattle, I recommend coming here! It is a great place to go for a picnic or just a walk!!

People in the Northwest U.S. are sooo friendly -- especially the people of Portland. It was so easy to just sit down and talk to strangers out there. I highly recommend the Green Tortoise Hostel in Seattle: Free dinners 3 nights a week, free live music night, free comedy night!! Check out Emery Carl at Pike Place! In Portland go to the Japanese and Chinese gardens and go get Dim Sum (Chinese breakfast) on a Sunday at 11 a.m.!! Oh, i had to use a disposable camera, so these pics suck a little!!

A few days in Seattle following an SDB conference, and meeting up with a grad school buddy to see Mt. Rainier.

We arrived in Seattle and made our way to the port via taxi to board our ship.  Being first time cruisers, we were not prepared for the grandness that is the port and how much like cattle we were about to be treated as. After shuffling through lines, validating passports and reservations and finally getting our keys, we headed for the long walk up the gangplank to find that we were once again, shuffled to the buffet due to the fact that our rooms were not yet ready. 4th of July holiday trip to Victoria, Vancouver and Seattle. We drove up to Port Angeles and took a ferry to Victoria. From Victoria, we took a ferry to Vancouver and spent the night there. Then we left the next evening to Seattle and hiked on Mt. Rainer.

We bought a car in Washington state and drove it back to KS....via Sacramento Cali....a 10 hour detour. Worth every minute of it in the end...

Had a little layover in Seattle before the 9+ hour flight to Tokyo...  made the last of my phone calls in the states!

More Seattle Fun!

35,000 feet above water and hugging the Alaskan coastline, I am on the longest flight of my life. I slept for a bit, but it's hard to really get satisfied in this tin can. We're going to the future! We're crossing the International Dateline on this flight, and we all know it's tomorrow in Japan. We're not even halfway complete on this flight. Chris has been asleep pretty much the whole time.
